Mosquitoes and their larvae in a salt water pool. This surpised us as we did not expect to
see their larvae in salt water.

We don't know what kind of birds these eggs came from.

We saw lots of sea urchins while snorkeling.		We also found an intact shell.

There were lots of scallop shells and starfish skeletons washed up on shore. On many of the beaches, there were hundreds of shells within a 2 meter radius. My favorite finds were a brittle starfish and an intact sea urchin shell.		picture2b This was taken at a whale exhibit at the Te Papa in Wellington. According to the exhibit notes, this is a sperm whale skeleton.
